There are three (3)  method installing Custom Recovery and Rooting Symphony M1. First method is little bit lengthy and you will be needed a PC to use this method. Second two method us fast, simple and easy. But all Symphony Xplorer M1 can not be rooted using second two method. So if you’re those than follow the first one.

Downloads & Requirements

Before proceeding Rooting and custom recovery installation method, You need to download some required file from bellow link:

  • MT65x3_USB_VCOM_drivers.zip – Download (for Method 1)
  • SP FlashTool.zip – Download (for Method 1)
  • UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip – Download (for Method 1)
  • Mobile Uncle Tools.apk – Download  (for Method 2)
  • Flashify 1.9.2 (com.cgollner.flashify.apk) – Download (for Method 3)
  • CWM Custom Recovery for Symphony M1 – Download
  • Root Checker Pro 5.6.8.apk – Download

 

How to Root Symphony M1 and Install Custom Recovery in Symphony M1

Method 1

  • If you want to follow first method, then download all the required files. Extract MT65x3_USB_VCOM_drivers.zip and install MediaTek MT65xx USB VCOM Drivers.( Installation process is in the extracted folder)
  • Extract SP FlashTool.Zip, and open SP FlashTool.exe (RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR is recommended)

  • Now Download and Extract TWRP Zip for TWRP file and Scatter Text File.
  • Now in the flash tool click on the scatter-loading, find the scatter file in the extracted folder and load it.

  • Leave only the recovery line checked(Ticked), then double click on its Location field and browse for your device-specific custom recovery image file.
  • Click on the Download button (No 6 in the image )and connect your phone to a USB port of your computer. The flashing process will start automatically and it needs just a few seconds.*
  • Now the custom recovery has been flashed. You may remove the USB cable.
  • To enter recovery, Turn off your phone. Press and Hold the Volume Down Button + Power Button, activate developers option menu, activate debug usb and use ADB commands to reboot in recovery mode “adb reboot recovery
  • You can boot your phone into recovery by powering it on while pressing the volume up button.
  • Congratulation, You’ve Now Symphony Xplorer M1 Custom Recovery installed.

How to Root Symphony M1 Using Custom Recovery

  • Download and Copy SuperSU.zip in SDcard of your Symphony M1.
  • Then Reboot into Recovery Mode. You will See Install Button in TWRP recovery. Then  Simply go to Install and select SuperSU.zip. After the installation complete, Reboot. You will be seeing SuperSU once you open your mobile in application manager.
  • You can also download Root Checker pro check root access.

 


 

Second and third method are completely different. In first method you need to install Custom recovery first in order to root. But in second and third method you will be needed Root access before installing Custom Recovery.

 

How to Root Symphony M1 Using KingRoot

  • First download latest Kingroot.apk from the above link.
  • Then take a complete backup of your phone data such as contact, Message,  Image, music. ( It’s not mandatory, Just an optional precaution.
  • Then open you Symphony M1. Go to Settings > About Phone > Find the Build version, and press over the Build version 6 to 7 times to unlock the Developer Mode. 
  • Then again go to Setting > Developer mode (You will find it above the About Phone option) and Enable the USB Debuggin (Using √ )
  • Then Go back to Setting > Security Enable the Unknown source (In case if you didn’t enable it yet)
How to Root Symphony Xplorer W69Q (Without PC)
  • Kingroot required Internet DATA Connection, Make sure You have enough data (Minimum 10MB) or Connect with Wi-Fi network.
  • At First Kingroot will ask for Root Checking, Press on Try ROOT.How to Root Symphony Xplorer W69Q (Without PC)
  • Rooting Process Take Up to 5 – 10 Times. By that time your device should be root.
  • If Rooting process fail, then don’t worry. Just  reboot, now you don’t have to go through all the process. Just launch the kingroot app, And try root again.
  • Congratulation, You’ve Now Rooted Your Symphony M1.

Once You’ve rooted Your Symphony M1, You can install custom Recovery using Mobile UncleTools or using FlashiFY. 

 


 

Installing Custom Recovery

Method 2 (Using Mobile UncleTools)

  • First Download & copy Symphony M1 TWRP Recovery.img on your phone’s or External memory card
  • Then install Mobile Uncle Tools.APK. (Mobile UncleTools needs Root permission)

  • Open Mobile Uncle Tools.APK and click on “recovery update” there you will find recovery.img select TWRP recovery m1.img. Press OK it will reboot your device into your required recovery.
  • Now Your Phone Shall Reboot into Recovery Mode. After that you can go to recovery  (TWRP –  Team Win Recovery Projet) and take a complete backup of your Current Stock ROM or install new Custom ROM on your Symphony M1.
  • To enter recovery, Turn off your phone. Press and Hold the Volume Down Button + Power Button, activate developers option menu, activate debug usb and use ADB commands to reboot in recovery mode “adb reboot recovery
  • You can boot your phone into recovery by powering it on while pressing the volume up button.
  • Congratulation, You’ve Now Symphony Xplorer M1 Custom Recovery installed.

Method 2 (Using FlashiFY)

  • First Download & copy Symphony M1 TWRP Recovery.img on your phone’s or External memory card
  • Download FlashiFy From above link and install on your Symphony M1 .
  • Open Flashify and Tap on “Recovery image” option. (FlashiFy needs Root Permission)

    Tap on “Recovery image”
  • Now a pop up will appear just click on ‘Choose a file‘ to select one of your file explorer app and browse to the file TWRP_recovery_M1.img.
  • Tap on the TWRP_recovery_M1.img.  file and tap on Yup.
  • Now Your Phone Shall Reboot into Recovery Mode. After that you can go to recovery (TWRP- Team Win Recovery Project/Phillz Touch ) and take a complete backup of your Current Stock ROM or install new Custom ROM on your Symphony M1.
  • To enter recovery, Turn off your phone. Press and Hold the Volume Down Button + Power Button, activate developers option menu, activate debug usb and use ADB commands to reboot in recovery mode “adb reboot recovery
  • You can boot your phone into recovery by powering it on while pressing the volume up button.
  • Congratulation, You’ve Now Symphony Xplorer M1 Custom Recovery installed.
