Known Bug

  • Recovery not working!!!!
  • Solution: After you did the first boot, recovery won’t boot anymore, to fix, flash TWRP by mauronofrio via fastboot to fast boot AFTER you flashed the ROM. Use Install TWRP Recovery on Your POCO F2 Pro as reference. Just download TWRP by mauronofrio and follow the same procedure.

Requirements

You’ll need a custom recovery installed on your Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro to flash a custom ROM.

Pre-requisite Firmware
  • Stock firmware version V12.0.4.0.QJKMIXM or higher
  • If you are on v12.0.3.0 vendor, you can just update the vendor | SKIP If you are already in the latest version.

 

ROM Download

Download all the necessary file given bellow for installing the Unofficial LineageOS 17.1 on you Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro.

 

How to Install LineageOS 17.1 ROM on POCO F2 Pro

 Step I – Installing TWRP on your POCO F2 Pro
  • First, download all the necessary files that are given.
  • Extract the ADB-tools for Windows. I’ve extracted the file in C:\platform-tools, So that it can be easily accessible.
  • Copy the recovery.img [Lineage Recovery] file on to ADB Binary folder. (e.g.  C:\platform-tools).
  • Now Press and hold the SHIFT key and right-click on an empty space inside of C:\platform-tools folder
  • .Select ‘Open command window here’ or ‘Open PowerShell window here. ‘
  • Turn off your device. Press the Power button and Volume down ( – ) button at the same time for few seconds to enter ‘Fastboot Mode‘ and connect the phone with your PC with a working USB cable
  • Enter the below command on the ADB CMD window:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
  • Wait for the TWRP to be flashed on your POCO F2 Pro. After that execute the following command
fastboot reboot recovery
  • The device will automatically reboot into TWRP.
Step II – Installing the LineageOS 17.1 on your POCO F2 Pro
  • Connect the phone using a USB cable with your computer while in the TWRP mode
  • Now copy the ROM file and the GApps file on your Xiaomi POCO F2 Pro.
  • Format data and clear cache from the twrp recovery. and from twrp navigate to Update > Update with ADB.
  • Execute the following command to flash ROM using ADB sideload:

adb sideload lineage-17.1-20201007-UNOFFICIAL-lmi.zip

  • Wait for the ROM to be installed. If You want to flash the GApps [Google Application Package], Then use the following command to flash the GApps
adb sideload 'GApp-file-name.zip'

[Please replace the GApp-file-name with the actual Gapp file me]

  • Wait for the GApps to be flashed.
Step III  – How to Root LineageOS 17.1 for POCO F2 Pro
  • If you want to root your phone flash the Magisk Zip. You need to flash this using ADB sideload. Execute this command:
adb sideload Magisk-v22-0.zip
  • Reboot Your phone. Enjoy
Step IV  – How to fix the bug –  Flashing TWRP by mauronofrio
  • Copy the recovery by mauronofrio.img file on to ADB Binary folder. (e.g.  C:\platform-tools).
  • Turn off your device. Press the Power button and Volume down ( – ) button at the same time for few seconds to enter ‘Fastboot Mode‘ and connect the phone with your PC with a working USB cable
  • Enter the below command on the ADB CMD window:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.4.0-14-lmi-mauronofrio.img
  • Wait for the TWRP to be flashed on your POCO F2 Pro. After that execute the following command
fastboot boot twrp-3.4.0-14-lmi-mauronofrio.img
  • or use this command –
fastboot oem reboot-recovery
  • The device will automatically reboot into TWRP. And this will fix the recovery bug.
  • Now enjoy.

    1. You cannot flash this ROM conventionally, rather use ADB-SIDELOAD feature to do it. If your recovery support ADB-SIDELOAD. You can flash it through ADB.

      But using Lineage Recovery is recommended.
